Finished my 12+ mile hike! It was amazing! Starting off was a desolate dry region. You wander for a while before begining a steep assent through lava rocks and sand. After climbing the first steep assent you’re rewarded with amazing views of the volcano! After another steep assent the red crater! And finnaly some beautiful turquoise pools. What a beautiful hike. And the hike ends with a long decent through a heavily wooded forest with some beautiful water crossings! It was so fun and beautiful!! Totally worth it!
